Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Public Policy (CPP) and the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) held a launch event for the special research report “Action Plan for an Inclusive Education Policy for the State of Qatar,” a joint project between WISE and the University of Cambridge’s Cambridge Network for Education and Research (CaNDER).

Building upon the success of the 11th edition of WISE, the event brought together diverse stakeholders to discuss actionable steps and foster collaboration based upon the findings within the report. Policymakers, school administrators, teachers, parents, and representatives from organizations of persons with disabilities participated, sharing perspectives and identifying practical steps for implementing the report’s recommendations.

Originating as a joint research study by WISE and CaNDER, the report highlights Qatar’s successful efforts to integrate and support people with disabilities while acknowledging the need for a comprehensive action plan to address educational and employability challenges.

Noting the success of the report launch event, Dr. Leslie Pal, Dean, CPP said: “Our partnership with WISE underscores our mutual commitment to shaping a more equitable and inclusive education sector for all. As a leader in education and research, HBKU looks to leverage synergies with renowned partners to build capacity in the country and wider region in order to develop new solutions for global challenges, including inclusivity in the international education sector.”

The report launch marks another milestone in HBKU’s ongoing support of WISE. Through active participation in multiple editions of the Summit, the University has remained a steadfast partner helping to foster dialogue and collective action in support of Qatar’s education ecosystem.
