CPP Presents Students with Pi Alpha Alpha Certificates

Honorees drawn from MPP and MSPPE programs

CPP’s latest PAA awardees

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Public Policy (CPP) has presented twelve students with Pi Alpha Alpha (PAA) honor certificates. To be honored by PAA, students must have a grade point average (GPA)of 3.67 (out of 4) or higher after one-half of their degree credits have been completed. 

Drawn from the CPP’s Masters of Public Policy (MPP) and Masters of Social Policy and Program Evaluation (MSPPE) programs, the Fall 2023 honorees are:

A month earlier, CPP students elected three PAA honorees to serve as President (Muhammad Abdur Rehman), Vice President (Muhammad Mubashir Ehsan), and Secretary (Abdulrahman Mohammed M. S. Al-Shafi) of the PAA Chapter for the 2023-2024 academic year. Dr. Kim Moloney, Assistant Professor, is the Faculty Advisor for Pi Alpha Alpha.

In 2022, the CPP’s Masters of Public Policy (MPP) and Masters of Social Policy and Program Evaluation (MSPPE) became the first degree programs in the Gulf (and the second College in the MENA region) to create a chapter of PAA. 

Part of the US-based Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA), PAA is a global honor society for students of public administration and public policy. Its purpose is to encourage and recognize outstanding scholarship and accomplishment in public affairs and administration.
